Metro C- Amba Aradam station

During the construction on Amba Aradam-Ipponio station on the city's new metro Line C, the remains of a second century imperial barracks came to light nine meters below street level. The 1,753 square-meter ruin contains some 39 rooms, many of which contain original mosaics and frescoes. The challenging project aims to incorporate the barracks in metro station, creating the first "archaeological station".
